Lydia has been involved in preschool & daycare for 25 years, and has a deep love for kids in this special age.
Lydia helped establish Puget Sound Christian School (Starting with Preschool in 1984 and adding a grade each year) in Tacoma, WA. She ran a Home Daycare in Tacoma from 1982-89 and then was the Director of Westminster Presbyterian's preschool (Sunshine Preschool)from 1990-1994. The "Sanders Home Daycare" in Tumwater has been operating for 15 years. Recently Lydia opened "Happy Hearts Preschool" in the newly acquired facilities of Capital Vision Christian Church, where her husband Bruce serves as Pastor. The preschool seems to be meeting a need in the community for a quality program with a fun atmosphere.
Bruce & Lydia, High School sweethearts, married in 1977 and have 3 adult children (Bethany 26, Bryce 23, and Jennifer 21). They are the delight of her life.
She attended Northwest Christian College in Eugene (1976-77), OR and Puget Sound Christian College (1977-80), taking Early Childhood Education classes as well as General Education toward a BA degree. In addition to the formal education, every year Lydia has taken Continuing Ed and "Stars" courses to grow in her profession. She has remained a licenesed care-giver with Washington State for 25 years.
The greatest thing that commends Lydia for this Ministry is her love for kids. It is evident from the time you meet her.
